Junior Interior Designer
Latham (L) Interiors is welcoming a Junior Interior Designer to join our award-winning, high-end residential studio in Sun Valley, Idaho. This early-career role is ideal for a designer building their foundation in interior architectural design and looking for meaningful in-studio growth. The position offers hands-on project work, close mentorship, exposure to all phases of the design process, and structured development toward advancing into a Designer-level position within the studio.
Our Studio is expanding, and we focus on thoughtful residential projects shaped by the character of the mountain environment. We’re looking for someone who’s energized by new challenges, enjoys producing clear and detailed drawings, and brings organization to schedules and deliverables throughout the design process.
The Junior Designer will take part in construction site visits, project presentations, weekly design reviews, and studio meetings. They will help maintain the sample library, meet with vendors, and assist with preparing materials and documentation. Working closely with our Principal and the design team, they will contribute to upholding the studio’s high standards while gaining meaningful experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Support the design team across all phases of project work, contributing to concept development, detailed documentation, and construction coordination. This role combines creative problem-solving with organized, detail-driven execution while collaborating closely with designers, vendors, and clients to uphold the studio’s high standards.
Key Duties:
• Contribute to design concepts with strong creative thinking and organized, detail-oriented follow-through.
• Assist in producing detailed drawings and help maintain clear, accurate project schedules.
• Manage and organize the materials library, including updating pricing, digital records, and physical samples.
• Research materials, furnishings, finishes, and imagery through vendor resources, catalogs, and online platforms.
• Prepare and edit images, files, and reference materials for use in Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, and other presentation formats.
• Communicate professionally with vendors and team members, gathering pricing, product information, availability, and specification details.
• Help manage project deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion across all phases.
• Support the design team in maintaining the studio’s standards, adhering to office procedures, and contributing to a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Assist with occasional errands such as picking up samples, mock-ups, or materials from local vendors or the studio.
REQUIREMENTS:
- • Minimum 2 years of interior design experience, including professional work, education, or internships
• Full-time role based in Sun Valley, ID
• Foundational competency in Revit, AutoCAD/ArchiCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and standard office software
• Strong conceptual thinking, clear communication, and solid organizational skills
• Confident, professional communication with vendors, clients, and team members
• Detail-oriented approach with the ability to support design concepts and manage tasks accurately
